1968 FORD MUSTANG COUPE - $69999

The First Generation of Mustang was introduced in 1964 and took the car world by storm with
a nine-year production run. Since then, the ‘Pony Cars’ have cemented their position of
authority within the American Muscle scene. The Mustang was distinctly designed with a long
bonnet and short rear deck and offered as a ‘hardtop’, ‘fastback’ and convertible. A range of
engines were made available, from the humble 200ci Inline-six to the stout 428ci ‘Cobra Jet’
V8.

This particular example is a factory 302ci Ford Mustang Coupe, leaving Ford’s manufacturing
facility in 1968. The body is finished in a subtle shade of silver, complimenting the timeless
bodylines of this 68’ coupe. A set of Magnum 500 wheels appear at each corner, giving this
68’ a tough period correct look. Stainless and chrome detailing presents well, including the
‘302’ and ‘Mustang’ badging sitting proudly on the front guards.

The black vinyl interior is understated in it’s appearance but provides for a comfortable driving
experience. The original detailing is still present including the stainless highlights to the centre
console, ‘Philco’ FM radio, automatic shifter and instrumentation to the dash. The original
steering wheel has since been swapped for what is believed to be a Moto-Lita woodgrain
example.

This 68’ coupe currently runs a 302ci V8, matted to a C4 automatic transmission. While quite
tame in its power figures, this driveline combo certainly offers an exciting, period correct
driving experience and sound.

As a capable cruiser with power and looks to match, this 1968 Ford Mustang Coupe is perfect
for an enjoyable weekend driving experience.
