The sixth-generation Ford Mustang was introduced in 2014, which saw the introduction of factory right-hand drive Mustangs for the first time ever with marketing and sales made globally. Three engine options were made available including the 4 cylinder ‘EcoBoost’, 6 cylinder ‘Cyclone’ and the popular 8 cylinder ‘Coyote’. Classic Mustang styling elements were retained with the ‘FM’ and ‘FN’ series.
This particular ‘Race Red’ Mustang GT is no ordinary example. Built in February 2021 at Ford’s Flatrock Assembly plant in Michigan, this Mustang was then transformed into one of fifty ‘Scott McLaughlin Limited Edition by Herrod Performance’ (SM17) packages. This example bears no. 47/50. It presents immaculately, showing just over 2200 kilometres since new.
The aggressive styling is noted by a series of cosmetic changes introduced into the limited edition ‘SM17’ package including:

Race Red brake calipers
‘SM17’ body decals on bonnet and sides

Front bar wind splitters and lower splitter

Minor changes over the standard Mustang GT interior include the bespoke Italian leather ‘SM17’ embodied front seats with matching Italian leather rear sears and bespoke Herrod flat bottom steering wheel.
Sixth Generation Mustangs are noted for their capable 5L V8, but the ‘SM17’ dials it up a notch with a Gen 5 HP 3L Whipple twin-screw supercharger good for around 775hp. Further running gear improvements were made and can be viewed on the ‘SM17’ website below.
