The second-generation Chevrolet Camaro was introduced in 1970 with just over a 10-year
production run. The new generation Camaro was described as more of a ‘drivers car’ than the
outgoing Camaro and featured longer, lower and wider styling cues. Engine options included
an entry level 6-cylinder all the way up to the small block V8. RS/SS packages were optional
as well as the Z/28 performance package.
This particular example is a RHD 1971 Chevrolet Camaro finished in a bright shade of red. The
paint on this example is all-new, as well as new rubbers body. A cowl induction bonnet has
also been installed and adds to the tough presence and styling. The look is completed with a
set of Centreline Auto Drags at all four corners.
The predominantly black interior trim is nicely contrasted with light coloured vinyl seats, with
subtle aftermarket additions including a steering wheel, Clarion headunit and Auto Meter
water temperature gauge. A right-hand drive conversion has also been undertaken as well as
a new front windscreen.
This Camaro now runs a 350ci V8 mated to a Turbo 700 gearbox. Other additional work that
has been undertaken includes:
All new front suspension ‘Super Pro’
Front adjustable coilovers
New cross drilled slotted rotors
Reconditioned front calipers
Polished, finned oil pan
Polished, finned transmission pan
Polished, finned differential cover
New exhaust
