The XW was introduced in 1969, replacing the XT Falcon. Almost all-exterior bodywork was restyled, with an interior redesign undertaken. Falcon, Futura and Fairmont models were marketed, while the XW GT-HO remains the most sought after. The iconic 351ci V8 was designated to the GT-HOs as well as a limited production run of over 600 units.
This particular example has been transformed into an XW ‘GT Replica’ wearing a subtle coat of ‘Silver Fox’ with contrasting orange GT stripes. Create care has been taken to include XW GT detailing such as bonnet pins, hood scoop, ‘351 GT’ badging, ‘Super Roo’ decals, ‘5-slot’ rims with hubcaps and dress rings to name a few. Externally, this XW GT Replica presents beautifully.
The interior presents just as well, with contrasting black trim throughout. As well as an aftermarket Autometer tachometer, an XW GT specific centre console and GT badging to the glove box have been installed.
This XW now runs a 351ci 4V Cleveland V8 stroked to 393ci with a SCAT rotating assembly, built by Mick Webb. The Clevo also runs a hydraulic roller, 236@50 560 lift roller rockers. A C10 transmission is fitted with MV forward shift and 3500 converter. It also runs a 3.77 truetrac with disc brakes at all four wheels.
