The ‘FB” Holden was introduced in 1960, replacing the outgoing ‘FC’. The FB was offered in sedan, utility and panel van variants, all running a 138ci inline six engine. Notable styling changes over the outgoing series were a lower bonnet, rear fin taillights and a wrap around front windscreen.
This particular example is no ordinary FB Ute, with significant work carried out since leaving the factory to make this a seriously tough pro streeter. It is currently finished in a gloss ‘cream’ colour which speaks to it’s early 1960s roots. However, the paint is not perfect and may need attention if inclined, as this is an older build. The tough presence of this FB is achieved with a set of Weld Alumastars, running a 15x4 front and a 15x12 rear.
The interior has also received modifications by way of custom seats, B&M QuickSilver shifter, Autometer oil pressure, water temp gauges and tachometer. Black carpets and door trims contrast nicely against the body colour that features within the interior.
This FB has received considerable work in the running gear and chassis departments. This particular example is a matching numbers, 1971 dated LC Torana GTR with ‘82911’ tags to prove. This LC is has undergone a full restoration and a complete once over, presenting immaculately as you’d come to expect. As per factory tags, this LC is an original Cameo Gold car with correct gloss black twin GTR stripes, bodyline stripe and lower sills. Correct detailing is present throughout with GTR badging, finned quarters, steel wheels and centre caps.
The interior presents just as beautifully, finished in tags matching ‘Sandlewood’. While the ‘Sandlewood’ vinyl trim compliments the exterior, it is nicely contrasted by the black carpet, centre console and dash. While the interior is quite simple in it’s design, it does retain a set of stainless GMH belt buckles, GTR steering wheel and GTR detailing to inner door trim.
This LC runs a matching numbers 161ci straight six, mated to a 4-speed manual gearbox. While not big on horsepower by today’s standards, the rev happy, carby ‘six’ does provide for a true, authentic GTR driving experience.

The HT received a series of changes including a new grille, tail lights, wider rear window, revised suspension and instrument cluster. HT was offered in sedan, coupe, wagon, ute and panel van body styles with engine options ranging from the humble ‘161’ inline-six to the 350ci Chevrolet V8. Kingswood proved popular while the Monaro GTS 350 Coupe was the ‘cream of the crop’.
This particular example started life as a humble HT Premier but has now been transformed into the outstanding masterpiece presented above. At the time of the build process, it received a full bare metal restoration finished in a stunning metallic silver. The elegant colour selection accentuates the classic HT styling cues and compliments the chrome and stainless highlights. This HT Premier sits on a set of Centreline Convo Pro rims, running a 175/80 R15 front tyre and a 295/50R15 rear tyre within tubs.

Replacing the ‘HT’ series, the HG was introduced in 1970 with a production run of only one year. A minor facelift was undertaken with the introduction of new grilles, colours and trim designs. Belmont, Kingswood, Premier and Brougham model lines were retained as well as the desirable Monaro GTS. The HG series also featured an export program to South Africa, with models rebranded as ‘Chevrolet Kommando’, ‘Constantina’ and ‘El Camino’.
This example is a HG Kingswood, subtly completed as a pro street cruiser for the streets. This HG has undergone paintwork in a sedate shade of burgundy, contrasting nicely against a set of satin finish Centerline Autodrags with a 5.5 front and 8.5 rear. While retaining Kingswood specific exterior details, the raked stance gives an aggressive pro street look.
