1968 HOLDEN HK PREMIER WAGON- $84,999
The Holden HK series was introduced in 1968 with a short production run until 1969. It replaced the HR series, and lead to the succeeding HT and HG models. Models included the Belmont, Kingswood, Premier, Monaro and Brougham. Most notably, the ‘GTS 327’ Monaro was introduced in July of 1968 and was unofficially dubbed the ‘Bathurst’ due to its racing success at Mt Panorama.
This particular example is 1968 HK Premier Wagon that has undergone a full bare metal restoration. During this process, it has been repainted in its matching numbers factory Silver Mink colour. The white roof also provides a light contrast that defines this body shape.
This HK is also a factory 307 V8, PowerGlide vehicle and still retains this particular style of driveline today. This particular combination provides for an excellent driving experience with enough grunt and sound to get the avid enthusiast excited. This example was also optioned with a factory differential.
While undergoing the restoration, the popular Goya Red coloured vinyl trim was selected and creates a striking contrast to the understated body colour. The Goya Red vinyl is nicely highlighted by the associated Premier wood grain and stainless steel elements. Being a Wagon body, the rear features a fold down tailgate. Additionally, the wind down rear window can be operated by the chrome fold out handle on the exterior of the tailgate.
