FORD XT FAIRMONT- $59999

The XT series was introduced in 1968 following the success of the preceding XR series. The
XT received a minor facelift that featured a new grille and taillight design as well as improved
safety features such as larger tyres from the factory and split system brakes. Falcon, Falcon
500 and Fairmont remained with the GT following a couple of months after the XT’s release.

This particular example is a neatly presented XT Fairmont Wagon that has received a full
bare metal respray in a subtle off-white, resembling Ford’s ‘Polar White’. During this process,
the undercarriage also received a full restoration. A set of genuine Fairmont wheel covers

appear at each corner, and are attached to 14x7 front and 14x8 rear steel wheels. Stainless
and chrome features present well, with a set of rear quarter window venetians installed to
complete the period correct look.

As for the interior, the burgundy trim presents excellently, featuring the original seats and
door cards. New roof lining and carpets have been installed which are sympathetic to the
original specification of this XT. Woodgrain highlights on the dash present well, while the dash
still houses the original AM radio. Being a Fairmont, this wagon retains a factory power rear
window.

This XT Fairmont runs a small block Windsor V8, mated to an automatic C4 transmission.
This driveline combination provides for easy and comfortable cruising all day long.
Additionally, all new suspension and disk brakes have been installed to improve driveability
and brake response. The smooth tune of the small block Windsor can be heard through the
chrome tip dual exit exhaust. To top it off, the engine bay has been meticulously detailed to
show car standards.

With it’s neat presentation and strong driveline to match, this XT presents an excellent
opportunity to experience low effort, reliable cruising all while indulging in this aussie classic.
