1955 CHEVROLET BELAIR COUPE - RESTOMOD 454 BBC - ***SOLD***

1955 CHEVROLET BELAIR COUPE - 'RESTOMOD' STYLE - 454 BBC - ***SOLD***

This LHD '55' Belair Coupe is a stellar example of a 'RESTOMOD' vehicle build. It is important to understand what this entails and only then truly appreciate what is being offered here. If you are a true enthusiast you will enjoy this. For potential purchasers, digest this, consider it and we would suggest don't hesitate to call before someone gets the 'jump'.

If you love pure 'AMERICANA', the 'TRI - 5' shoebox era is instant classic. TICK. How these cars present nearly 70 years later is a matter of subjective taste. This 1955 example is pure RESTOMOD style.

Five 'B's'. Black. Big wheels. Billet. Big Block.

Stunning black lower and dark silver above the 'flash' to the roofline.  A lick of retina red in the side trim is a master stroke. A bone coloured plush interior that has been crafted to the highest level right through to moulded kick panels for the stereo speakers so it looks integrated not just added. Check out the glorious roof interior in the photos. The polished trim bows and opulence is hard to find in any production car today. The ambience for driver and passengers is next level. The console sits well as if a high spec optioned extra. Anyone in the auto trim upholstery field will recognise this has been done the right way. It is a contemporary approach synonymous with the style.

One word. BILLET. OK if you like billet, get ready for a feast akin to a ten course banquet with no mercy. It is everywhere. In the cab. The steering wheel. The dash trim. Under the bonnet, in the boot, literally everywhere... Motor is festooned with it... Did we mention the bonnet hinges? You may have seen billet hinges before... You have not seen them built like this. The CNC time and material consumed for this vehicle made our heads spin when you tried to add it up. The $$$ invested it would take to replicate this today is eye watering.

Yet another detail in true RESTOMOD style is the CLASSIC INSTRUMENTS binnacle cluster. A visual feast that pays tribute to the original keeping it analogue but in a contemporary format. In the drivers seat from the billet wheel to all you survey it is cohesive and on point. Too many cars often look like a bit of a mish mash even if money has been lavished. It takes a vision, talent and commitment to pull this off. It is done. Ready to enjoy.

Drivetrain is a stout 454 BBC partnered with a civilised T700 and proven Ford 9" rear making this a tough but fuss free cruiser. The exhaust note is NEVER going to be confused with a small block. The 'noise' as you turn the key and bring it to life will bring a smile every time. You will never tire of it.

Now the rolling stock. 20" American Racing rims set the stance true to this style. Four wheel cross drilled disk brakes. Now, here is the option as we see it. Leave as is OR take it in a new direction with a 2020 style wheel or even go back to original autodrags maybe? The rest of the car is at such a build level it leaves this reinvention opportunity to make your mark.

So there we have it. Quite the opportunity for the right person. Vehicles of this quality are not going anywhere but up. "Just drive she said..."

Given our recent sales trends we suggest not to hesitate if seriously interested in this vehicle.
