Following the success of Holden’s reintroduction of the legendary Holden Monaro in 2001,
HSV had their hand at building upon the foundations of the new coupe platform with a series
of variants including the GTS, GTO, GTO LE and the all-wheel drive Coupe4. The Z series
coupes were introduced in 2004 now with the 297kw 6.0 litre LS2, revised HSV body kit, 19”
HSV wheels and revised manual and automatic transmissions.

This particular VZ GTO Coupe is build number 0044, leaving HSVs Clayton manufacturing
facility on 27/10/2004. This example is particularly special as it is finished in the sought after
Devil Yellow body colour, with matching yellow leather seats and door card inserts. Offset
nicely against this body colour are the original Z Series Performance alloy wheels finished in
shadow chrome. The original performance braking system is still retailed with grooved discs
and HSV embossed front callipers in HRT red.

Stepping into the interior, you will find the bold Yellow leather accents contrasting against the
Anthracite Black trim. All original equipment such as the factory Blaupunkt head unit and HSV
centre mounted oil pressure and voltmeter binnacle gauges are still retained and present
beautifully. Stain chrome highlights feature in the centre console facia, gear shifter, hand
brake and the HSV sill plates.

Presenting only 102,945 kilometres from new, the running gear operates and performs as
expected for such a well-maintained vehicle. This example features the 6.0 litre LS2 V8,
mated to a T56 6-speed manual transmission. A Limited Slip Differential helps deliver the
power to the rear wheels.
