1990 HSV SV5000 - $49990

 

Holden introduce the VN series in August of 1988 with a series of models ranging from the
base Commodore Executive powered by the Buick V6 up to the Calais with the option of
Holden’s Injected 5 Litre V8. HSV introduced the Clubsport & Maloo as mainstream models
as well as the homologated Commodore SS Group A SV.

This particular example is a 1990 HSV SV5000, build number 202, finished in the iconic SV
Racing Green with Silver SV5000 decals and stripes. The exterior presents as per HSVs
original specification including the five spoke pentagonal star alloys with HSV centre caps,
correct decals & stripes and all distinctive SV5000 specific aero.

Showing just over 97,000 kilometres, the interior presents beautifully. Original HSV
equipment is still present including the sports seats with grey Howe leather bolsters and grey
velour inserts, SV insignia in seat backrest, black momo three spoke HSV steering wheel and
SV5000 build number badge in dash. An aftermarket Pioneer headunit has been installed but
the original SV5000 radio will be supplied with the sale. This SV also comes with an HSV
Certificate of Authenticity and HSV folder, however there are no original books.

This SV5000 is running the infamous 5L Injected V8, developed by Holden and fine-tuned by
HSV to make 200kw back in 1990. Like all SV5000s, this one retains an automatic
transmission as well as a limited slip differential. The current owner has described that a full
rebuild of the engine has been undertaken as well as work to the transmission, brakes,
suspension, air conditioning and cooling. The underside of the car was rust proofed from the
dealer, stone guard and painted.
