1985 HOLDEN HDT VK SS COMMODORE - 119,999

The VK series was in production between February 1984 and February 1986 and was the first Commodore to have plastic bumpers and introduced rear quarter windows for a six-window design as opposed to the four-window design on previous Commodore models.

The exterior of the VK Commodore was also updated with a more modern and aggressive appearance. This included a new grille design very different from previous models, with three bold strips rather than a metallic grille, the now plastic front and rear bumpers/skirts replacing the obsolete metal guards, and a new rear tail light assembly, whereby they now spread from one side to another with a black panel in between.

Holden had made the decision to drop the SS name for the VK model and seeing the value of that name, HDT adopted it as their base model vehicle for the VK series. Like the LM 5000 and Group 3, the SS was available in just two colours, Alpine White and Asteroid Silver. The cars featured a distinctive “SS” logo and stripe down the car, the same boot spoiler as seen on the Group 3 and 15 inch Aero wheels.

Powering the SS is a 4.9L 308 that is mated to a M21 4 speed with a 3.08 Limited Slip differential. The interior featured Scheel seats with the rear seat trimmed to match, Momo steering wheel and HDT gearknob.

Please note this car is matching numbers and is dealer fitted with a metal sunroof.
