1979 HOLDEN HZ KINGSWOOD SL - $44999

The HZ series was introduced in 1977, as the last ‘H-Series’ vehicle line before the
introduction of the ‘Commodore. While cosmetic upgrades were minimal, Holden introduced
Radial Tuned Suspension (RTS), which saw a series of suspension tuning to suit radial
specific tyres. This allowed for predictable and precise handling. Holden carried over all
models from the previous HX series, with the exception of the base ‘Belmont’ specification.

This particular example is an HZ Kingswood SL, built at Adelaide’s Elizabeth manufacturing
facility in 1979. Finished in Palais White, the body shows signs of age but presents very well

as an original example HZ Kingswood SL. All badges and mouldings are present, while also
retaining the original hubcaps, mud flaps and period correct metal sun visor.

The interior features a bold red vinyl and carpet combination, practically rare for this model.
All original equipment is present including the push-button radio and dash clock. Bucket seats
with the short centre console and column shift create a true late 70s driving experience.
Showing only 169,633 on the dash, the interior presents extremely well for it’s age.

Boasting a 253 cubic inch V8 and TriMatic transmission, the driving experience is surprisingly
smooth and direct for the vehicle’s size and age. Holden’s Radial Tuned Suspension assists
in this department, benefiting from Holden’s redesigned body mounting system, more rigid
steering column, suspension bushings and front + rear bar stabilisers to name a few.

As a relaxing, original cruiser, it doesn’t get much better than this. Simply turn the key and
cruise or have the perfect base for your dream pro street build. The choice is yours; secure
