1978 HOLDEN HZ KINGSWOOD (HJ GTS REPLICA) - $89999

The HZ series was introduced in 1977, as the last ‘H-Series’ vehicle line before the
introduction of the ‘Commodore. While cosmetic upgrades were minimal, Holden introduced
Radial Tuned Suspension (RTS), which saw a series of suspension tuning to suit radial
specific tyres. This allowed for predictable and precise handling. Holden carried over all
models from the previous HX series, with the exception of the base ‘Belmont’ specification.

This particular example started life as an HZ Kingswood, but has now been meticulously
transformed into an HJ Monaro GTS replica. In doing so, a full bare metal restoration has
been undertaken which included new paint, trim and running gear.

As for the exterior, a fresh coat of gloss red paint has been applied with the correct gloss black lower highlights. Fluted front guards give off the tough GTS appearance while an HJ GTS grille up front ties in nicely. Staggered rims with a 205/70 R15 front tyre and 275/50 R15 rear tyre give this HJ GTS replica the authentic pro street stance.

The interior is new and features GTS trimmed front and rear seats, with black vinyl with cloth
insert and iconic red vinyl centre stripe. A brushed black aluminium B&M shifter gives control
over gear selection while a GTS inspired steering wheel gives a true GTS feel. The dash
features the popular round gauges housed in a black facia.

This HJ GTS replica houses some serious running gear, running a tough Holden 355ci
Stroker, mated to a Turbo 400 rated to 1000hp and a 9” diff. The transmission also features a
3500 hi-stall as well as mini-tubs to the rear with a full floater rear end.

With the looks and power to match, this HJ Monaro GTS replica presents a great opportunity
to secure a tough pro street build with a lot of the hard work already completed.
