1977 HOLDEN HX KINGSWOOD (GTS TRIBUTE)- $59999
The Holden ‘HX’ series was introduced in 1976 with a short production run of just over one
year. The HX received minor changes over the outgoing ‘HJ’, notably the badging and front
grille. Changes were made to engines fitted to HX models due to new Australian Emissions
regulations. The ‘HX’ was available in the popular Kingswood sedan variant, as well as ute
and panel van body styles. Premier and Monaro were also available, notably the ‘LE Coupe’.
This particular example started life as an HX Kingswood but has since been transformed into
a ‘GTS’ Tribute with considerable work undertaken. This HX received a colour change in
2015 into the striking blue colour you see before you. ‘GTS’ stickers and badging were also
installed to compliment the paintwork. A set of Centreline Autodrags have been fitted and
certainly add to the tough nature of this GTS Tribute.
The interior presents excellently with new trim undertaken in 2021, with the black vinyl,
carpets and plastics beautifully contrasting the sharp blue exterior. A ‘GTS’ style steering
wheel has been fitted, as well has a B&M QuickSilver shifter, Autogage tachometer with shift
light, temperature gauge and aftermarket Pioneer head unit.
This GTS Tribute now runs a 308ci V8 engine mated to a trimatic gearbox. The engine was
