1976 HOLDEN HJ KINGSWOOD UTE - $39,999
The HJ series was introduced in the third quarter of 1974, replacing the legendary HQ series.
The HJ received a facelift, most noted by the squared-off front end and wrap around
indicators. The same warp around treatment was provided to the rear taillights that were
presented in a triangular-like shape. Popular model lines such as Monaro, Kingswood and
Premier were carried over.
This particular HJ Kingswood Ute left Holden’s Sydney manufacturing facility in 1976, finished
in Absinth Yellow. This example has since had a unique transformation with various Monaro
GTS styling cues. These include: HJ GTS grille, factory GTS wheels, HJ Monaro fluted
guards, HJ GTS decals, Monaro steering wheel, HX/HZ Monaro inspired colour matched
bumpers and HX Monaro bonnet stripe. This HJ as also received new paint work.
The interior presents a smooth black trim with bucket seats and full-length centre console
housing the aussie 4-speed manual shifter. A GTS steering wheel notably compliments the
exterior styling cues while an aftermarket tachometer allows for precise shifting through the
RPM range.
This example is a factory 253ci, 4 speed manual ute now with a 10-bolt differential. The
engine and gearbox have also been rebuilt for reliable cruising,
Stand out from the crowd with this uniquely styled HJ Kingswood and enjoy the turnkey
experience of this tough cruiser.
