1975 HOLDEN HJ STATESMAN DEVILLE - $44999
The HJ Statesman series was introduced three years after the initial long wheelbase HQ
statesman, with the HQ statesman being a response to the Ford Fairlane. The HJ series
retained the Deville name while introducing the flagship Statesman Caprice. Visual
distinctions for the HJ included: a single radiator grille, quad headlights and wrap around tail
lights. Engine options were restricted to only the 5 litre 308 V8 across Caprice and Deville.
This particular example is a 1975 HJ Statesman Deville, built in Holden’s former Pagewood
Sydney Plant and leaving the factory with a 308ci V8 and TH400 Transmission. Originally
believed to be a Chamois/Covert & Cloth interior over Persian Sands body, this Statesman
now wears a well-presented solid white body with cream vinyl over green material interior.
All Statesman Badges are evident, while the chrome features and mouldings present well. As
well as lowered suspension, a set of Street Pro 007 wheels (15x6 Fronts and 15x8.5 Rears)
adds to the Pro Street look of this Statesman. The interior also features a B&M QuickSilver
shift and Autometer RPM gauge, adding to the driving experience.
This Statesman runs a mild 308ci V8 with gear drive and a Turbo 400 Transmission. This
combination offers a smooth driving experience with enough power and sound to suit.
Take the opportunity to secure this turnkey HJ Statesman Deville and add a bit of excitement
to your next cruise.
