1975 HOLDEN HJ MONARO GTS - $84,999

The HJ series was introduced in the third quarter of 1974, replacing the legendary HQ series.
The HJ received a facelift, most noted by the squared-off front end and wrap around
indicators. The same warp around treatment was provided to the rear taillights that were
presented in a triangular-like shape. Popular model lines such as Monaro, Kingswood and
Premier were carried over.

This particular example is a genuine 308ci V8, HJ Monaro GTS four-door, leaving Sydney’s
Pagewood manufacturing facility in late-1975. As per the tags, this Monaro presents a tag
matching paint finish in ‘Chamois’, complimented nicely with lower black highlights and
signature Monaro fluted front guards. All Monaro badging and ‘GTS’ decals are present, as
well as a ‘GTS’ front grille. A set of centreline autodrags and a reverse cowl bonnet help show
off this Monaro’s pro street demeanour.

The original Chamois/Covert & Cloth interior has now been replaced with much more sedate
black trim. Original Monaro equipment is still present including the GTS steering wheel and
multi-guage dash cluster. The interior hints at a pro street nature with a B&M QuickSilver
ratchet shifter.

This genuine, factory 308ci V8 Monaro runs a mild 308, hooked up to a Turbo 700
transmission. Power is delivered to a ford 9-inch differential and laid down to the road via a
set of 255 Mickey Thompson’s housed in a set of mini tubs.

With the looks and power to match, this genuine HJ Monaro GTS presents a great
opportunity to secure a turnkey, chrome bumper weekend cruiser.
