1975 CHRYSLER VK CHARGER 770 - $89999
The VK Charger series followed the legacy left by not only the VJ, by the infamous Bathurst
bred VH Valiant Charger. The VK signalled the removal of ‘Valiant’ from the model name,
marketed simply as the ‘Chrysler Charger’. The Chrysler Charger was then offered in two
variants, the XL and 770.
This particular example is a 770, housing a 318ci (5.2L) carburetted V8 connected to an
automatic transmission. This running gear finds a nice balance between power and the
familiar rumble of Mopar V8s.
Externally, the VK Charger displays the notable ‘C’ Pillar ornamentation revision of an
extended, black fibreglass panel moulded to the profile of the roof. Variant identification
badges were also placed on the fibreglass. This is contrasted against the understated
Amarante Red body. A set of Centreline Auto Drag wheels complete the exterior look.
Stepping behind the wheel, a matching burgundy vinyl interior respectfully compliments the
exterior colour. The bold 70s styling is still evident with ‘Red Boca Raton' cloth inserts on each seat.
Light wood grain highlights complete the dashboard styling.
With a clear rise in popularity amongst Chrysler/Chrysler Valiant Coupes, this 770 Charger
demonstrates a clear appreciation for it’s Charger pedigree. Equally beautiful to look at as it is
to cruise, experience it for yourself and have your piece of Australian two-door muscle.
