1973 FORD XB FAIRMONT GS HARDTOP- $109999
The XB series was introduced in 1973 as the second iteration to the Falcon, with production
running until 1976. The XB was the replacement to the XA, receiving minor cosmetic
changes. The GT model line continued through the XB series in Sedan and Hardtop variants.
This particular example is a 1973 Ford XB Fairmont GS hardtop finished in the popular
‘Yellow Blaze’ with full length ‘GS’ body decal. As well as being tastefully lowered, a set of
Bathurst Globe 5-spoke wheels feature at each corner, wrapped in a set of red wall Maxxis
tyres. Quad headlights and twin bonnet scoops make a statement as well as a GT inspired
lower lip, showing that this GS means business. A set of lower rear quarter vents and
stainless petrol flap complete the look of this aggressive GS Hardtop.
Contrasting the bold yellow exterior is a black vinyl trim with subtle wood grain highlights
through the centre console. This example retains a ford branded stereo with aftermarket
speakers installed in the foot well kicker panels. The period correct XB 4-speed shift knob is
also present.
While this XB GS Hardtop originally left the factory with a 302ci V8, it has since been
replaced with a strong 351ci V8. Additionally, the factory automatic gearbox has also made
way for a 4-speed manual gearbox, topping off the enthusiast driving experience this hardtop
provides. In the rear, a 9-inch differential helps to lay down the power to the road. As for
engine cosmetics, the traditional blue valve covers have been replaced with a set of finned
Holley M/T covers.
Don’t miss the opportunity to secure this beautifully styled, 351ci powered, ‘Yellow Blaze’ XB
GS Hardtop.
