1972 HOLDEN HQ MONARO GTS - $169999

 

The HQ Monaro Coupe emerged in July of 1971, featuring a completely new body design
over the outgoing first generation. Some notable changes were the larger rear window,
squarer rear quarters and integrated taillights into the rear chrome bumper. The HQ Monaro
was available in Base Model, Monaro LS, GTS and GTS 350. While most Base and LS
models received the 173ci and 202ci engines respectively, the GTS came standard with the
253ci and could be optioned with the 308ci. The Chevrolet sourced 350ci V8 was reserved for
GTS 350 model lines.

This particular example is a Factory 308 V8, 'Dolly Yellow' HQ Monaro GTS now finished in a striking combination of bright yellow paintwork with gloss black GTS bonnet and boot stripes. Iconic external features such as the GTS grille and black finned GTS quarters present beautifully, complimenting the bold body colour. Adding to the tough look of this GTS Monaro is a set of genuine Centerline Autodrag wheels wrapped in 165/80 R15 front tyres and 255/60 R15 rears.

The interior presents well, featuring black vinyl with material inserts to the front bucket seats
and rears seats. Subtle aftermarket touches add to the driving experience such as a B&M
shifter, Autometer water temperature and oil pressure gauges, tachometer and Kenwood
head unit. Completing the look is a GTS three-spoke steering wheel.
