1972 FORD XA FALCON - $84999
The XA series was introduced in 1972 as the replacement to the XY, the beginning of the
third generation Falcon model lineup. The XA was larger than it’s predecessor and received
the classic ‘coke bottle’ styling, which was all the rage at the time. Significant handling and
comfort upgrades were also introduced.
It is believed this example started life as a 250ci 6 cylinder, automatic Falcon, produced in
July of 1972. Since then, this XA has had a complete restoration with styling cues inspired
from the XA GT. Finished in ‘Imperial Burgundy’, the body also received satin black highlights
to the lower portion of the car as well as the GT large format strip across the dual-scoop
bonnet. Quad headlights also complete the GT look. This XA also achieves the pro-street
look with a set of StreetPro 002 Convo Pro wheels with a polished finish.
The understated interior features a black-on-black combination with black vinyl seats, door
cards and carpet. An XA GT/GS steering wheel completes the look.
The original running gear has been replaced with a stout 351ci with a 9-inch differential to the
rear putting the power down to the ground. Get the true old-school aussie muscle experience
shifting through the gears via the Ford Toploader manual transmission.
With the looks and grunt to match, this neat XA Falcon is the perfect chrome bumper
weekend cruiser.
