1970 HOLDEN LC TORANA GTR- $199,999

The Muscle Car Shop is proud to present this beautifully restored Sebring Orange LC GTR Torana. Below is a description of the work undertaken by Damian Worthy of ‘Worthy GTR Restorations’ in Adelaide

 

This 1970 SEBRING LC GTR arrived at Worthy GTR Restorations in January 2021, and now, after 10 months and 1200 man hours into the body, interior, mechanical and reassembly - this Australian classic has been restored.

 

The body was mounted on a rotisserie then blasted and put into etch primer. All fabrication and rust repair work was carried out, correct gaps all round where achieved - then the body was blocked down and painted in Sebring orange with 3 coats of clear. The entire car was blocked down again and then the stripes were applied and a flow coat of clear applied.

 

  • The engine is a correct 2600S which has been hot tanked, re-sleeved and crank was linished. New standard pistons were custom made by JP and installed with new rings and bearings. The head was completely rebuilt with a period correct, freshly re-chromed rocker cover, correct carby and headers.

  • It has a period correct Opel 4 speed gearbox and tailshaft.

  • This GTR has new brakes all round, new brake lines, and a reconditioned big nut master cylinder.

  • The interior is Roebuck Black matching the tag trim code with all new door cards, including metal tops and stainless GTR trim.

  • Nearly all original Parts were sourced for this car & then refurbished before going back into the car, like the front and rear ends for example. 

  • The wiring loom and steering column were restored.

  • All parts, nuts and bolts were re-zinced and re-chromed. The grill and light surrounds were repaired, and polished. New glass was used where required.
