The XW was introduced in 1969, replacing the XT Falcon. Almost all-exterior bodywork was
restyled, with an interior redesign undertaken. Falcon, Futura and Fairmont models were
marketed, while the XW GT-HO remains the most sought after. The iconic 351ci V8 was
designated to the GT-HOs as well as a limited production run of over 600 units.

This particular example started life as a 6-cylinder powered 1970 XW Fairmont, leaving the
factory in the classic Ford colour, ‘Polar White’. Since then, this XW has undergone a
concourse restoration transforming it into a XW GT-HO Tribute. All work was performed by
‘Mustang & GT Restorations’ on South Road, Adelaide, SA. A recent re-spray has also been
undertaken in it’s original ‘Polar White’ colour. The external GT-HO treatment to this XW
includes ‘351 GT’ badges, 5-slot wheels with hubcaps, GT body stripe, single bonnet scoop
with blackouts, ‘Super Roo’ stickers, GT tear drop mirror and bonnet pins to name a few.


The black vinyl interior presents beautifully with a great range of GT-HO tribute features
throughout including: GT dash, GT centre console, GT seats, GT roof lining and GT ‘Rim-
Blow’ steering wheel. Additional aftermarket items include a Hurst Pro Shifter with shift kit and
an Autometer digital tachometer.

Extensive driveline work has been completed to make this GT-HO Tribute a serious street
machine. The work includes:
