1969 FORD XT FAIRMONT (GT TRIBUTE) - $104999
The XT Series was introduced in 1968 as a face lifted version of the XR. Revised grille,
taillights and improved safety features were included. The Ford Fairmont was also introduced,
marketed as a luxury-oriented version of the base Falcon sedan. The ‘GT’ was introduced two
months after the 1968 release and was the top performance model of the XT range.
This particular example started life as a 1969 XT Fairmont housing a 302ci V8. Since then,
changes have been made to create this gorgeous GT Tribute. The exterior is finished is what
is believed to be a custom colour, presenting hues of gold and silver. All bright work presents
well with subtle details such as the ‘GT’ and ‘230 HP’ badges present. A set of Centreline
Convo Pros sit at each corner and give this XT a true street presence.
Internally, original details such as the timber and stainless highlights, instrument cluster and
steering wheel are present. However, a set of column mounted Autometer gauges and B&M
pro ratchet shifter add a subtle pro street flavour to this GT Tribute.
While the original running gear has been replaced, a modified 351ci Cleveland V8 making 450 hp takes its place featuring a holly carburettor, hydraulic roller crane cam and crane lifters. Mated to a C4 transmission and a 9”, 31 spline differential with 4:11 gears. A three-core XY GT
radiator assist in keeping the running gear at temperature.
GT Tributes do not last long at TMCS, be sure to make your enquiry now to avoid missing out.
