1960 CHEVROLET BEL AIR- $49999

The Fourth Generation Bel Air was introduced in 1959 and featured a large redesign including
the iconic flat wing style tailfins. Fourth Gen Bel Airs were offered in sedan and hardtop
variants, with convertible body styles reserved for ‘Impala’. The 1960 iteration featured a
restrained front-end design and quad pointed taillights. As well as the ‘Blue Flame’ inline six,
the 283ci Small block and 348ci Big Block V8 motors were available.

This particular example is a gorgeous 1960 Chevrolet Bel Air, delivered new in Australia. The
current owners Father owned this Bel Air for many years, having it resprayed 20 years ago in
a subdue pastel pink/beige hue. The interior trim and fuel tank were also replaced during this
process. The bright work presents well with the original styling elements in place such as the
‘arrow’ style mid-level body mouldings, top of door to rear fin moulds and ‘Bel Air’ badging.
Original hubcaps on colour-matched steel rims give the period correct look as well as the rear
pointed taillights.

The previously retrimmed interior presents well with hues of red across the carpet, dash,
seats and door trims. Original equipment such as the Bel Air steering wheel with half-circle
horn ring and gauges are still in place. The 60’ Bel Air benefits from front quarter windows
that contour to the warp-around front windshield. The big front bench seat provides excellent
comfort for long summer cruises.

The running gear is quite standard with a columns shift automatic and Chevrolet carburetted
V8 engine to match. While quite tame in power, this driveline combination certainly offers the
period correct driving experience and sound.

Take the opportunity to secure this excellent example of a 1960 Chevrolet Bel Air.
